1. Introduction
PacketGate (hereinafter "the App") is an iOS app provided by RuLa Gems ("the Developer"). The Developer respects and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.
2. Information We Collect
The App stores the following information only on your device:
- Quiz learning history (timestamps, correct/incorrect answers, accuracy, study time, etc.)
- References to the apps and categories you selected for blocking (see Section 4)
- App settings (language, notifications, theme, etc.)
- Cached subscription status (the result of querying your App Store purchase state)
Important: All of this information is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server operated by the Developer.
3. How We Use Information
The collected information is used solely for the following purposes:
- Presenting networking and CCNA study questions and tracking your progress
- Controlling the launch of selected apps (granting access upon correct answer)
- Visualizing your learning progress
- Providing app functionality
4. Use of Screen Time API / Family Controls
To provide the app launch control feature, the App uses the following Apple-provided frameworks (collectively referred to as the "Screen Time API"):
- FamilyControls: used to let you select which apps and categories should be subject to access control.
- ManagedSettings: used to apply the launch restrictions for the selected apps on your device.
- DeviceActivity: used to manage the timing of access control.
The information handled through these APIs is provided by Apple as opaque tokens. The Developer cannot read individual details such as the actual app names or usage times. These tokens are stored only on your device and are never transmitted externally.
The App uses the Screen Time API as a "self-control" tool — to help you convert time spent on tempting apps (social media, video apps, etc.) into study time. It is not designed for monitoring or restricting the use of other people (such as children).
Screen Time authorization is granted only with your explicit consent, presented by the system dialog at first use. You can revoke the authorization at any time from the device's Settings app.
5. Information Sharing
The App does not share any personal information related to your learning history or blocking configuration with third parties. All such data is stored exclusively on your device. Advertising and subscription processing as described in Section 8 are exceptions.
6. Data Retention
All data is stored on your device until you uninstall the app or manually delete it.
7. Security
The App utilizes iOS security features (App Sandbox, Keychain, Data Protection classes, etc.) to protect your data. Data is stored in an encrypted format on your device.
8. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
Apple (StoreKit / App Store)
Purchases of the App's paid plans (Plus / Pro) and subscription management are handled through Apple's StoreKit 2. Your purchase and payment information is processed directly by Apple, and the Developer never receives any payment information (such as credit card numbers). Google AdMob (Advertising Service)
For users on the free plan, the App uses Google AdMob to deliver advertisements. AdMob may collect the following information:
- Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
- Data related to ad impressions and clicks
This information is used to display personalized ads and to measure advertising effectiveness. For more details, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
On devices running iOS 14.5 or later, App Tracking Transparency (ATT) will prompt you to allow tracking. Even if you do not allow tracking, you can still use the App normally, but the ads displayed may not be personalized. Ads are not shown while you are on a paid plan (Plus / Pro).
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us using the form below and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Your Rights (California / CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of that information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because the App stores learning history and blocking configuration only on your device and does not transmit it to the Developer's servers, we have no personal information to disclose, delete, or sell on your behalf — except for the limited advertising identifiers handled by Google AdMob as described in Section 8. 11. Disclaimer (Learning Content)
The networking and CCNA study questions and explanations provided by the App are offered as a learning aid only. The Developer makes no warranty of any kind as to their accuracy, currency, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Exam objectives, question trends, and product specifications may change without notice.
The App is not officially endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Cisco Systems, Inc. or any other certification body or exam provider (CCNA is a trademark of Cisco Systems, Inc.).
The Developer is not liable for any learning outcomes, including the pass or fail of any certification exam. Always verify important information against official materials and documentation.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as necessary. Any changes will be reflected on this page along with the "Last Updated" date above.

14. Data Deletion
